Fall Ball is a developmental program that is geared towards helping players continue learning baseball fundamentals, develop additional skills, and test drive the next level/division before our official season begins next spring. Players must play within their league boundary unless their home league does not have fall baseball or with written approval from the home league and district.
The Fall Ball season will operate from September 1st through November 3rd. We encourage everyone to play in the division that will be age and skill-appropriate for the Spring 2025 season as a way to test it out. Fall ball is less competitive than Spring baseball with fewer teams and no playoffs. Players usually will play in a division higher than what was played in the spring, since the Fall Ball season is mainly about skill development. Practices will take place once a week with games on Sundays.
For AA Levels and above, the expectation is to practice once a week focusing on drills and skills and to have a game/scrimmage once a week on Sundays. The Single A Division will be coach pitch with one practice during the week and one practice on the weekend. Single A will not have official games. NEW THIS SEASON - in an effort to focus on development, we will have less games for the first half of the fall ball season so the kids can practice a bit more before being thrown into a game situation. Game schedule will be finalized in the coming weeks.
Similar to the Spring season, families are responsible for providing pants, belts, socks, gloves, bats and cleats. The league will provide an LGLL team shirt and hat. We hope to see your child out on the baseball field this Fall! If you have any questions, please contact us at
[email protected]
There is no volunteer requirement for the Fall Ball Season however, if you are interested in coaching please note this in the volunteer section of the registration form. The ability to host Fall Ball for a division is dependent on player interest and the ability to secure volunteer coaches. All LGLL Coaches are Parent Volunteers.
Fall Ball season is designed as a dress rehearsal for players who think they might be ready to move up to the next level for the upcoming Spring season or who want to continue honing their skills in their current division.
When is the 2024 Fall Ball Registration?
Registration will be open between August 1 and August 18th.
When will practices begin?
Practices will begin the first week of September. There will be one practice per week and practice days will be decided once managers and registration are finalized.
When will games begin?
Scrimmages/games will be on
SUNDAYS*. There will be one game per week and the first games will begin no earlier than September 17.
Why are games on Sundays?
Many of our players are also playing other sports that fall on Saturdays. We use Sunday to help avoid these conflicts and allow as many players as possible to enjoy Fall baseball.
How long is the season?
First practices will be the first week of September and the final game will be November 3.
Which Division Should I choose for my player?
Fall Ball is a very low key, short and FUN season. The purpose of Fall ball is to test out the next division and just have fun playing baseball with old and new friends.
Single A players who will be Little League age 7 in the 2024 season, can try out AA.
AA players who will be Little League age 9 in the 2024 season can try AAA.
AAA players who will be Little League age 10 or 11 in the 2024 season can try Majors.
How are teams formed? Teams will be formed based on Coach and Friend requests (different from the regular season draft). We do our best to honor these requests but team sizes may force us to split some friends with multiple requests. We will also do our best to keep even teams based on end of season feedback from previous managers/coaches.
